Academic Fellowship in the Critical Race and Ethnic Studies Program

Andrew Harris Fellowship Program

The University of Vermont is pleased to announce an academic postdoctoral fellowship position in the Critical Race and Ethnic Studies Program in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). CAS is interested in applicants with backgrounds or interests in either one or any combination of the following broad subjects: Economics, Geography, Global and Regional Studies, Middle Eastern Studies, or Environmental Justice. UVM is especially interested in scholars who can contribute to the UVM College of Arts and Sciences diversity plan, which was designed in part to ensure faculty, students, and staff members from underrepresented and marginalized populations are an integral part of the life and governance of the institution.

This fellowship is offered as a full-time, 12-month appointment (September 1 through August 31) in an academic department in the College of Arts and Sciences.
The deadline for applications is February 20. Only complete applications will be considered. Materials should be submitted electronically. Make sure subject line reads: “Harris Fellowship”. Packet must include: a cover letter that includes a description of research/writing goals for the fellowship year; a curriculum vita (5 pages maximum); three letters of recommendation; and a 20-30 page writing sample to Professor Emily Bernard, Interim Director, Critical Race and Ethnic Studies at: [log in to unmask]. The cover letter should provide a summary of the candidate’s accomplishments, subject areas of interest, and a description or statement of past contributions and commitment to advance diversity.
