The Second Scottish Business and Industrial History Conference, Wednesday 22 April 2015, University of Stirling

Following the success of the inaugural SBIH conference in 2014, we are delighted to announce details of the 2015 SBIH conference. This day conference seeks to explore a wide range of themes relating to the economic, social, business and industrial development of Scotland and beyond from the medieval period onwards, including developments of UK significance. Theoretical, empirical and review papers are welcomed from scholars in the areas of economic, business, accounting, financial or social history, or any other cognate discipline. The conference will allow delegates to present and discuss, in an informal setting, research ranging from early drafts to fully developed papers.

Abstracts are invited from scholars at all career stages including established researchers and those in the later stages of a PhD. The conference is supported jointly by the University of Stirling and Scottish Business and Industrial History, the journal of the Business Archives Council of Scotland. It is hoped that papers presented at this conference may be submitted to the journal in due course.

This conference, organised by Dr Alisdair Dobie of the Stirling Management School at the University of Stirling, and by Professor Sam McKinstry of the University of the West of Scotland, will be held in the Cottrell Building at the University of Stirling. There will be no conference fee for those presenting papers. Registration details will be issued in due course.
Those wishing to offer papers to be considered for presentation at the conference should send an abstract of their paper (not exceeding one page) by 28 February 2015 to: [log in to unmask]
