Salary:  £37,394 to £45,954 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for the above post to lead the Academic and Public Engagement Team within the University of Nottingham Manuscripts and Special Collections (MSC).  This post is one of two Senior Archivists within MSC and has responsibility for the delivery of public services within our reading rooms, academic liaison to support teaching and research and public engagement, including running a high profile exhibition programme and associated events.

 

Manuscripts and Special Collections are part of the Libraries, Research and Learning Resources Department and are based on the King's Meadow Campus with a dedicated exhibition gallery at Nottingham Lakeside Arts on University Park. MSC preserves and provides public access to the University's rich collection of archives, manuscripts, rare books and local studies materials. It holds nationally designated collections including the papers of leading Nottinghamshire families and their estates; the records of local businesses and organisations, including those of the Archdeaconry of Nottingham; the papers of political, diplomatic, literary, scientific and academic figures, including D.H. Lawrence; historical records of the University and its predecessor, University College Nottingham and named special collections of published works.

 

Candidates should be educated to degree level and have a postgraduate archive qualification. They should have excellent leadership and management skills,  excellent presentation and teaching skills and experience of  the promotion of archives and special collections including exhibitions and publications.
