Research Methods Fellowships and Internships

On behalf of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), the NIHR Trainees Coordinating Centre (TCC) is launching Round 6 of NIHR Research Methods Fellowships and Internships to support the development of individuals with expertise in research methods including:

 Medical Statistics;

 Health Economics;

 Clinical Trial Design;

 Operational Research; and

 Modelling.

Systematic Reviews

In recognition of the importance of using systematic reviews to inform the delivery of health and social care, NIHR TCC is pleased to announce expansion of the Research Methods Scheme to include NIHR Systematic Review Fellowships.

The NIHR Systematic Review Fellowships will:

 Address the current shortage of systematic reviewers;

 Provide training at the earliest stages of career; and

 Support individuals from any discipline, thereby expanding the potential pool.

NIHR Research Methods Fellowships and Internships and NIHR Systematic Review Fellowships form part of the NIHR Research Methods Programme, the purpose of which is to:

 Attract to the NIHR the most talented individuals, especially those who are not currently working in a health-related field;

 Provide these individuals with the necessary support and training to become specialist methodologists in areas relevant to the NIHR; and

 Expand their research interests into areas relevant to the NIHR.

Applications are invited for funding to host NIHR Research Methods Fellowships and Internships and/or NIHR Systematic Review Fellowships. Please see the Scheme Guidance Notes for details on eligibility criteria.
