Thanks for the replies. For those who are interested, the UK National Screening Committee website has a good review covering bladder cancer screening tests: http://www.screening.nhs.uk/bladdercancer

Subject: NMP22

A local GP says that one his patients, a retired firefighter, has received a letter from the fire service telling him he is at increased risk of bladder cancer and should therefore have urinary NMP22 measured. The GP is not happy and plans to contact the fire service about it. Has anyone else come across this?
