medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Just before the period, and not Franciscan, but if I recall correctly the Vita Sancti Hugonis (St Hugh of Lincoln) records Hugh’s scepticism about miracles concerning transubstantiation.

Best wishes,

Jane

I have found sceptism of eucharistic miracles in early thirteenth century theologians.  I would be happy to send you the article in which I wrote about this phenomenon in a separate post if you are interested.

Best,

Gary
