It might be worth noting that the Eastern Churches do not recognize
the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception. In fact, the feast (a fairly minor
one, at that; the local Orthodox cathedral isn't even doing liturgy) of Mary's
conception is celebrated on the 9th (pointedly, her gestation is 9 months, minus
1 day, i.e., 1 less than perfect).
