Copyright Challenges: Understanding the recent legislative changes and how to use them effectively<http://www.sconul.ac.uk/event/sconul-copyright-training-2015>

Earlier this year, the SCONUL ACCSG Copyright Sub-Group conducted a survey on copyright training needs. As a result of the responses, four courses have been planned to take place in the new year. They will be held in Cardiff on 26 January, Manchester on 30 January, London on 17 February and Leicester on 20 February.

Each course will be running the same programme<http://www.sconul.ac.uk/event/sconul-copyright-training-2015#programme> and will cover the following learning objectives:

§ Understand how copyright really works in HE

§ Encounter existing licences and the new legislative framework

§ Practice using the exceptions and licences in specific HE examples

§ Discuss the role of risk management in making decisions

Training will be provided by Naomi Korn Copyright Consultancy in association with Chris Morrison and Dr Jane Secker who have put together an exciting new programme aimed at Higher Education staff with a copyright remit.

The guest speaker, Sarah Brear, Development Manager - Education at the CLA, will be talking about the latest news and developments from the Copyright Licensing Agency.

Visit SCONUL Events<http://www.sconul.ac.uk/event/sconul-copyright-training-2015> to book a place on one of the SCONUL regional copyright courses for the new year.

Best wishes,
