I cannot understand your question (perhaps I am missing the key concept here). Are you saying you have acquired your 4D EPI acquisition with a small FOV, but want to register your structural to a full 3D EPI that you also acquired? Perhaps you could rephrase your question. . .

Dear FSL experts,

I have a question regarding registration within FEAT using the expanded structural image (in my case full-brain EPI image). Does providing a full-brain EPI image always result in better registration or is it just in case the 4D functional image has a small VOF? What I am actually wondering is can it hurt to use the expanded structural image (i.e. full-brain EPI image) no matter what size the VOF of the 4D functional image is?

Any assistance would be more than welcome.
