National Archives to distribute boxes and USBs to store historical documents and pass on to it. A national initiative aimed at collecting, archiving and protecting the personal documents of people residing in the UAE with the intention of making them part of the national archive was launched in the Capital on Monday.

The Watheq (archive) initiative by the National Archives was intended to preserve ongoing, reference and historical documents that could be valuable in writing the UAE's history. "One of the missions of the National Archives is to collect the individual archives, (which) will enrich the nation's archives," said Dr Abdulla Al Rayes, Director-General of the National Archives.
