*Salary: * £26,274 to £37,394 *Closing Date: * Monday 15 December 2014 We are seeking applications for a 3-year (Senior) Research Associate post to work on within the Medical and Pharmaceutical Statistics (MPS) Research Unit (www.mps-research.com) in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Lancaster University. MPS develops and evaluates novel statistical methods of study design and data analysis for use in the pharmaceutical and medical research community. We work with partners in heath care, the public sector and pharmaceutical industry. You will work on a project concerning the use and uptake of adaptive methods funded by the MRC network of Hubs for Trial Methodology (http://www.methodologyhubs.mrc.ac.uk/) and on methods for multi-arm and multi-stage clinical trials in the first instance. You will also become involved in professional development courses associated with your expertise. Experience of teaching and programming skills using software such as R are desirable, but training on these aspects of the job can be provided.
