Áine *** King's German Reading: Maja Haderlap, Writer-in-Residence Thursday 11 December 2014, 7.00pm | Austrian Cultural Forum London 28 Rutland Gate, London, SW7 1PQ (Visitor information)<http://www.acflondon.org/visitor-information/> The Austrian author Maja Haderlap won the highly prestigious Bachmann prize in 2011 for her debut novel Engel des Vergessens (Angel of Forgetting). It tells the story of a family from the Carinthian Slovenian population of Austria against the backdrop of the minority's resistance against National Socialism. One of the most important Austrian authors today, writing in Slovenian and German, joins us for a trilingual reading and discussion of her work, which encompasses poetry, essays, translations and fiction.
