The IRMS is sad to post the following notification from Nigel Hardman.
My understanding is that Michael Willis-Fear, who was active in an era prior to many of us, was a valued senior professional of his time.
On behalf of the IRMS, I offer our sympathies to his family.

Dear all
I have today received the sad news that Michael Willis-Fear has passed away. He died, calmly and peacefully, after a short illness at the local hospice, Rowcroft,
in Paignton. He had a long and varied career culminating as the first County Archivist in Greater Manchester where he was responsible for saving a good part of its industrial heritage in the 1970s and early 80s. Our thoughts are very much with Ros, his wife
and the family at this sad time.
