MPs ordered their expenses to be shredded after just three years to prevent any “smoking guns” from coming to light, a whistleblower has claimed. Paul Gibbons, a records management consultant, has revealed he helped draw up a controversial records policy that ordered all expenses paperwork to be destroyed after just three years.
