The Opportunity

Monash University Library seeks a dynamic and accomplished Rare Books Librarian, to develop, manage and promote a significant Rare Books collection. 

 

A key component of the role will be working with other Library and University staff to develop resources, programs and activities to advance the University's research and education goals. You will also develop and build relationships with  donors, cultural institutions and societies. You shall also collaborate with others to coordinate the management of all Monash University Library collection material requiring special care, and to develop, implement and promote all Library exhibitions. 

 

You will be a member of the Library Strategy Group and work with senior staff to achieve strategic and operational goals.

 

To be considered, you will require extensive knowledge of special collections, and in particular, specialist expertise in rare books and experience in curating exhibitions. You will have outstanding interpersonal skills, the ability to strengthen relationships and work within a complex organisation.
