Dear Colleagues

I am very pleased to forward the information below on behalf of Nottingham Trent University Library. If you or colleagues would like to attend any of the tours please contact me

Over the last three years Nottingham Trent University has invested heavily (£10 million) in redeveloping the library buildings across all three campuses. We are delighted to be able to offer free tours of the libraries that will highlight the developments and how they were undertaken.

Boots Library at the City Campus has been refurbished over three years. The first stage was completed in the summer of 2012, with the refurbishment of Level 4. The second stage saw the reconfiguration of Level 0 and -1 in the summer of 2013; and the final stage (Levels 1, 2 & 3) was completed this year.

The tour of the Boots Library will take place on Thursday 18th December from 10 am to 12 noon

Brackenhurst Library at the Brackenhurst Campus is a brand new purpose built library that was opened in August 2013. The library is built to the highest green standards, and is heated by a new biomass boiler which is partly fuelled by waste from around the campus.

The tour of Brackenhurst Library will take place on Wednesday 17th December from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Clifton Library at the Clifton Campus has been totally transformed over the last two years. The first stage including a new roof and windows. The second stage was carried out over the summer of 2014 and involved a complete refurbishment of the building.

The tour of Clifton Library will take place on Monday 15th December from 10 am to 12 noon.

The tours will highlight the changes, including the range of different study spaces, new shelving arrangements that enhance book promotion and display, access to IT, the logistics of undertaking such large projects and the very last stages of two of the refurbishments.

Refreshments will be provided and there will also be an opportunity to ask questions both during and after the tour.
