Dear Madam or Sir,

the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is pleased to share the Call for Applications for our new scholarship programme for Syrian refugees. The special scholarship programme "Leadership for Syria" (LfS) aims to support the academic qualification and advancement of young Syrian scientists in Germany. In times of civil war and displacement in their home country, this programme intends to give a sustainable contribution to build a future elite of leaders who will play a central role in rebuilding the country.

Caveat: The following information only applies to Syrians residing in Jordan. For Syrians living in Syria or other third countries please consult directly www.daad.de/syria.

The programme targets highly qualified Syrian high school graduates and students who fulfil the conditions and intend to contribute to the reconstruction of Syria after the end of the civil war.

Applicants must fulfil the following conditions: Syrian citizenship or permanent residence in Syria before 2011 AND registration as a refugee with UNHCR in Jordan. Applicants without UNHCR registration are not eligible.

LfS offers scholarships to study in Germany for both Bachelor programmes as well as Master and PhD programmes. The deadline for application is the 15th of December, 2014.
