We are delighted to invite you to participate at the 7th International Shared Decision Making Conference and the 4th International Society for Evidence-Based Health Care Conference which will take place at the University of Sydney on 19-22 July 2015. This
is the first time the two conferences have come together reflecting the wider international interest in bringing research evidence and clinical decision-making closer together. This is currently a topic of great interest to organisations such as the UK’s
'Right Care' program and the US Agency for
Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). In Australia this is also emerging as an important issue for policy and practice. The ISDM conference is held every two years with the last one
chaired by Dr Victor Montori from the Mayo Clinic and held in Lima, Peru. Previous conferences have been held in Boston, Ottawa, Oxford, Maastricht, Swansea and Freiburg. The ISEHC conference is held annually and has been hosted in New Dehli, Italy and this
year in Taiwan.
The unique opportunity provided by joining these two conferences in Sydney for 2015 has the potential to leverage growing interest in the Asia-Pacific region and to bring high profile researchers from North America and Europe to
this region for the first time. The topic of this conference has relevance not only to researchers but also to educators, policymakers, clinicians and the general public.
Welcome!
On behalf of the International Society for Evidence Based Health Care (ISEHC) and the International Shared Decision-Making (ISDM) group we warmly invite you to attend the joint ISDM/ISEHC Conference in Sydney, 2015. This will be a landmark event in the evolution
of both evidence-based health care and shared decision making, which have much to contribute to each other and to better care for patients. This important opportunity for you to enjoy the fellowship of like-minded colleagues as well as enjoying the many pleasures
of Sydney. We look forward to seeing you there!
