The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute
of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia announces the opening of multiple
tenure-track faculty positions in all areas of Civil and Environmental
Engineering. especially one or more positions in Geotechnical Engineering.
Applications will be considered for Assistant, Associate, and Full
Professors.  At GT, our geotechnical group is entitled:  Geosystems
Engineering.  Research areas of interest include broad areas of
geotechnics, geomechanics, geophysics, and soil & rock, as well as
sustainability and resilience of subsurface infrastructure systems
subjected to natural and man-made hazards, including geotechnical
earthquake engineering; new laboratory and field developments at the
confluence of sensors, IT and modeling; subsurface solutions to global
problems of energy generation, capture, storage and transmission;
engineered geomaterials; and high performance computing.   Applicants with
the ability to work across other engineering & related disciplines are

Engineering has vibrant programs in Geotechnical Engineering,
Construction, Environmental, Environmental Fluid Mechanics and Water
Resources, Structural, and Transportation Engineering. In both Civil
Engineering and Environmental Engineering, the School's undergraduate
programs are ranked 2nd and 3rd nationally, and the graduate programs are
ranked 3rd and 5th, respectively. The School currently has approximately

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Geotechnical/Civil &
Environmental Engineering, or a related field at the time of appointment,
and will have either demonstrated, or shown a clear potential, for
creative and independent research that would lead to a strong
extramurally-funded research program and national and international
recognition. Incumbents will teach both undergraduate and graduate
courses.  Screening of applicants will continue until January 5, 2015 or
