Salary: 5.000–8.000 EGP, depending on agreement
Hours: Sun–Thu 10:00–18:00, flexible 40h/week
Beirutis looking for a curator, artist or collective
to direct its artistic program. The position starts in February or March 2015. Candidates are expected to carry out scheduled activities until June and envision a new program to launch in fall 2015. The position offers an exceptional opportunity within
the region to build and expand on an inspiring program of international magnitude and interest with local impetus.
Key responsibilities:

Envision and direct Beirut's artistic program including all exhibitions, commissions, events and activities, in Cairo and elsewhere

Plan and oversee program related budget, expenditure and fundraising

Supervise program related logistics, communication and production

Manage visiting artists and research residencies

Liaise, build and nurture relationships with local and international collaborators, partners and funders

Provide and coordinate content for digital and print publications, public relations, websites and social media

Support the team and contributing artists in fundraising, planning, executing and reporting for previous, existing and new projects
Beirut is a not-for-profit art initiative and
exhibition space in Cairo. Founded in 2012, its office and gallery spaces, public library, project studios and classrooms are located in a small villa with garden in the neighborhood of Agouza.
Beirut offers a year-round public program of exhibitions, discursive and educational activities that voice
the importance of independent and critical thinking for political and social imagination. Beirut considers institution building a curatorial act. The institution as practice manifests a set of ideas grounded in the belief that change
needs first to be imagined in order to be achieved.
