Medical Statistician, Institute of Cancer Research Clinical Trial and Statistics Unit (ICR-CTSU)

* Do you like the challenge of complex datasets?

* Do you want variety in your work and opportunities to apply your statistical knowledge across a number of therapeutic areas in oncology?

* Would you like to work as part of a multi-disciplinary research team and with like-minded statisticians?

The Institute of Cancer Research, one of the world's leading cancer research centres, is looking for a medical statistician to join the Clinical Trials and Statistics Unit (ICR-CTSU) at its Sutton site in Surrey. You will be a motivated statistician and will work on the statistical development, oversight and analysis of a number of multi-centre phase II/III clinical trials across our national and international portfolio. This role would particularly suit someone who has an interest in working with biological data associated with clinical trials.

Together with either a post-graduate qualification in statistics or first degree in statistics and practical experience in medical statistics, you will have a sound understanding of randomised controlled trials, experience with survival analysis methods and applying statistical methods to real data. Good communication skills, including excellent written and spoken English, are essential to liaise with multi-disciplinary team members across multiple studies. You should also be happy to work individually as well as part of a wider team. In addition, working knowledge of statistical software, ideally Stata, is required.

This appointment will be on a fixed term contract for 2 years in the first instance.
