Dear all,

 

while I understand the concept and interpretation of a partial correlation coefficent, I don't get what precisely the multiple correlation coefficients tells me? Explanations like "measure of the strength of the association between the independent (explanatory) variables and the one dependent (prediction) variable" not really enlighten me :-(
