Apologies for cross-posting.

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to share further details of the 8th Annual University of Glasgow Learning and Teaching conference, which will take place on Tuesday 14th April 2015.

The Conference is open to all members of the Higher Education community with an interest in learning and teaching, and once again, to a number of external contributors and participants.    External delegates will be required to pay a fee of £60.00 at the time of registration.

The Conference is entitled 'Learning and teaching in a changing environment'
The Conference will provide an opportunity to explore important challenges and opportunities arising from changes to the context in which learning and teaching is taking place. The following themes will provide a focus for exploring how a changing environment can enhance the student learning experience:
. Learning with technology
. Assessment that is fit for purpose
. Student diversity

Call for abstracts:
The Conference will comprise a mixture of presentations (30 minutes) and interactive workshops (60 minutes); I invite you, therefore, to submit abstracts (max 300 words) for presentations and workshops using the online tool at: http://learn.gla.ac.uk/abstracts/

Selection will be based on the following criteria:
* alignment with the title and themes of the Conference
* breadth of interest to the University community
* links to the University's Learning and Teaching Strategy [not for external contributions]

Please submit your abstracts by Friday 14th November 2014. As with previous Conferences, successful abstracts will be published in the Proceedings booklet and online formats.

Registration:
Registration will open early in the new year, when the full programme will be announced. Full details will also be published on the website:
http://www.gla.ac.uk/services/learningteaching/events/annuallearningandteachingconference/

Building on the success of the 2014 Conference, I look forward to your participation in what I am sure will prove to be another lively and engaging event.

Kind regards

Frank
