Police spokesman Wayne Baker said: “FOI is an important tool for us to help us demonstrate openness and accountability within the force.

“In terms of legal requirement, we are bound to deal with any legitimate request, irrespective of the subject matter.

“We do encourage people submitting a request to check what we have previously published to ensure what they are asking for has not been answered before. This cuts down the amount of work that needs to be undertaken.”
