Hi Alexandra I don't know whether it's formally written up anywhere but it's apparent in the books themselves (Realistic Evaluation, Pawson and Tilley, 1997; Evidence Based Policy, Pawson, 2006.) Realist evaluation is evaluation - it's 'primary research' in the sense that one goes out and evaluates something. Realist review is a synthesis of existing evidence - so it's 'secondary research' using existing sources (e.g. research reports, evaluation reports, etc etc.) Cheers Gill -----Original Message----- From: Realist and Meta-narrative Evidence Synthesis: Evolving Standards [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Alexandra Reith Sent: Wednesday, 1 October 2014 10:39 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: about the differences realist review/realist evaluation Hi where can I find out something about the differences between realist review and realist evaluation?
