It seems important to understand, as this book shows,  other, major influences on migration and the treatment of migrants, arguably as serious and possibly being mistaken for or lumped under climate change. While not necessarily more imp. than, and certainly interwoven with, CC in the longer term, these, and notably the aggressive strategies associated with them, seem more pressing and severe for many migrants at this time.

Subject: A closer look at 'climate refugees'

Regarding the debates on 'climate refugees', the blog at http://www.scidev.net/global/migration/analysis-blog/focus-on-migration-a-closer-look-at-climate-refugees.html might be of interest.

As well, two just-published, freely available papers on climate change and migration are:

1. "Contextualising typologies of environmentally induced population movement" http://www.emeraldinsight.com/doi/full/10.1108/DPM-09-2013-0152

2. "Islander Mobilities: Any change from climate change?" go to http://www.inderscience.com/info/ingeneral/forthcoming.php?jcode=ijgw and then search for my name to find the download link.

Thanks to all those who have been involved in these initiatives!
