DRN Postgraduate Event Date: 23rd October 2014 9.30am-4.30pm Venue: Boardroom, Ground Floor, Alan Berry Building, Coventry University, Priory Street, Coventry, CV1 5FB The Directors of DRN & TRACEY in collaboration with Coventry University are pleased to invite you to attend a Drawing Research Network Postgraduate Event with keynote from Tania Kovats. The event aims to provide a space for discussion, dissemination and the exchange of knowledge of research methodologies developed by those either undertaking or recently completed PhD research, where drawing forms a part of the practitioner-research. The speakers will use the following as starting points in their discussion, as possible themes, as prompts and as provocations: • What role does drawing play at each stage of the research methodology? • How do you reconcile the relationship between drawing practice and theory? • Within your methodology: are drawing processes specifically research processes and if so, do drawing outcomes explicitly evidence the research? • Is drawing used as an analytic tool and/or research outcome? • How does the simultaneity of thinking and iterative action work in the process of drawing research?
