The Health Services Research team forms part of the Knowledge and Information Unit. Work is mainly focussed upon undertaking evidence reviews to provide advice on best practice for NHSScotland. This includes the production of Health Technology Assessments examining the clinical and cost effectiveness of new and existing healthcare technologies for the Scottish Health Technologies Group, and critical appraisal of published literature to inform SIGN guidelines. The team also provides general research and evaluation advice and training to units across the organisation. 

We are seeking to appoint a temporary Health Services Researcher with extensive experience of undertaking systematic reviews of scientific literature, including critical appraisal of all types of quantitative study designs, who can join the team and make an immediate contribution to the evidence review work.  

Applicants should also have a postgraduate degree in public health/health services research or a related subject and/or have extensive health services research experience.  Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work methodically and across several projects at one time.
