Many thanks Jon -- Dr Jon Swords Senior Lecturer in Economic Geography Department of Geography Northumbria University Newcastle upon Tyne Post 1: Faculty of Engineering and Environment Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Human Geography Two full time fixed term posts (19 months) Location: Newcastle upon Tyne Salary: Senior Lecturer: £38,511 - £47,328; Lecturer: £33,242 - £37,394 pro rata The Faculty of Engineering and Environment strongly promotes the principles and applications of social science in Human Geography and supports excellence in research, teaching and innovation. We seek to appoint a high calibre individual to the Department of Geography. You will support and enhance the best quality research, teaching and entrepreneurialactivities. The Department has growing areas of strength in understanding socio-economic transformations, visual methodologies and political change. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in all areas of human geography, but particularly those who prioritise public engagement and social change in research and teaching. You must hold a first degree and be qualified to Doctoral level (or be close to completion) in a relevant discipline and have subject expertise in, or related to, Human Geography with specialist knowledge gained through research activity, professional practice or consultancy. Proven ability to deliver high quality research led teaching within an appropriate field and a publication profilecommensurate with the post of lecturer/senior lecturer are essential.
