In light of anecdotal reports of the presence of a landfill, I retract my earlier comment relating to zero risk.

The question of age categories of the end-users (being a good point) should perhaps form part of the site-specific risk assessment?

If this is landfill

Is there some presumption that a cover system is in place?

Or perhaps potential contamination sources have been identified and intrusive investigation of surface soils has been carried out J

Or maybe that only old people play bowls and younger children in particular don’t?

Hopefully the ‘bowlers’ have been issued with hand hygiene advice if the picture is uncertain?

OR… maybe it just that the authority  doesn’t want their nice bowling greens torn up?

Does Part 2A cover dogs?

Oh the joys…!

I used to be CLO at Trafford.

If this is the park I think it is, it’s a former landfill.

Not Friday yet, but thought members maybe interested in a new risk assessment for areas of public open space!!!  Well done Trafford Council – saw this on a nice sunny day in the park!  Sorts out the risk of direct contact.
