My hounds behave as though I were a hart, and when I beheld the bather I felt as though I would soon be a hart; am I to say, by hounds and by bather, Actaeon is a hart? The sun is above me, it is day; my hounds are upon me -- am I, then, a hart? I have seen the modest, and have left them for the chase; my hounds did not behave as though I were a hart; by the bather, then, and her modesty, Actaeon is a hart?
