Dear Colleagues,

At the ARA we consider Continuing Professional Development to be a vital part of the support we provide to the record keeping sector. Across all regions and sections it’s our role to support archivists, records managers and conservators in their drive to develop their careers.

The ARA Section for New Professionals (SfNP) and the ARA Northern region will be holding a joint event on Wednesday 19th November at Heritage Quay in Huddersfield on the themes of recruitment and Continuing Professional Development. This will be an excellent opportunity for professionals at all stages in their career to find out more about the support the ARA offers you for your development.

This event will have something for everyone, whether you’re a new professional searching for a job, an experienced professional involved in recruitment or simply want to know more about CPD opportunities for records professionals. The day will include talks on the SfNP Peer Pals Programme, the current changes to the ARA Registration Scheme and information on the new Continuing Professional Development programme. There will also be an interactive CV and application forms workshop and a chance to look round the Heritage Quay, the home of the University of Huddersfield Archives.

A full programme for the day can be seen on the ARA Northern Region News page at

www.archives.org.uk

The event is free and open to both members and non-members of the Archives and Records Association. If you would like to attend, please register here:

The day will include a Northern Region business meeting at 10.15am and the Section for New Professionals AGM at 11.15. Everyone is more than welcome to attend any part of the day.

We hope to see you there.

Best wishes,

Kimberley Starkie
