....can you beleive that we don't have these (vacuum mattreses) in Canada?   Well, they are available and we have one in our Search and Rescue team but the ambulance service don't have them....in BC at least.

Leave them in the vacuum mattress. Our physicists ran tests that showed they

Subject: Trauma mattresses

I am looking at trying to find a more efficient way of moving trauma
patients onto and off the CT Table.  We have looked at using a  'CT Safe'
scoop stretcher, but  our neuroradiologists and medical physicists say they
need 30% higher dose of radiation to get the same image quality using a
scoop rather than without a scoop.

Is there a suitable mattress that can be used to facilitate sliding patient
on and off CT table without using a PAT slide? Do any of you have any other
equipment to facilitate this transfer?

Thanks

Jules
