Dear All,

Is there anything out there (archaeological or a modern study) concerning the age of fusion of the cattle and sheep/goat radius and ulna shafts. This obviously occurs some time beyond the fusion of the proximal ulna and distal radius and therefore beyond the 4th/5th year of life. Information taken from whole cattle skeletons (archaeological) has shown that radius and ulna fusion has certainly taken place by the time the mandibular teeth are fully worn i.e. M3 wear state 'g' or 12. I was wondering if anyone has made a more in depth study of this fusion sequence.

All the best

Kevin
