Dear Lisbeth,
there should be no problem to use your data preprocessed with SPM8 in
SPM12 for statistical analysis but I agree it might be simpler to
describe in a paper if you used a single version of the software.
When loading (or running) an SPM8 batch in SPM12, it will be
automatically upgraded (using config/spm_rewrite_job.m) to take into
account the changes that took place between the two versions (as
described in man/ReleaseNotes.pdf). That said, it will not update
automatically the paths to the tissue probability maps used in Segment
so you might find it simpler to respecify your batch scripts in SPM12.
