Hello, please can you send around details of our forthcoming BSA medsoc Wales event please?

Dear Colleagues

We would like to invite you to the following free event organised by the BSA Medsoc (Wales) regional group. All welcome.

26th November 2014
Workplace Culture in Older Peoples' Care with Prof Kelly and Dr Jones (School of Healthcare Sciences) and Eleanor Johnson (SOCSI)
12.15 - 2pm Glamorgan Building, Cardiff School of Social Sciences, Cardiff University CF10 3WT

The care of older people, and the potential for their abuse and neglect, has become a prominent concern in recent years. This seminar will focus on work place culture, how this might contribute to care or neglect, and how those within the system manage their professional concerns. Professor Kelly and Dr Jones will discuss their qualitative research, recently published in Sociology of Health & Illness, exploring whistleblowing and workplace culture. Eleanor Johnson will talk about her ethnography of older people's care and her experience working as a care assistant.

You do not need to register, however if you are planning to attend or require further information, please contact Sara [log in to unmask] or Rebecca [log in to unmask] .
