A penny for your thoughts on the feasibility of configuring Google Drive as a DAMS; using the Google Drive API's to deliver images and associated data/metadata to modern Collection Management Systems and museum online databases?

https://developers.google.com/drive/web/integrate-open#open_and_convert_google_docs_in_your_app

Please don't worry about related issues such as the security aspects of cloud technology or cloud v self-hosted server issues, these are being addressed in a separate exercise, I'm really just interested in the theoretical ability for this to be achieved. Related issues I am concerned with include: IPTC metadata possibly being stripped when images are either uploaded to Google Drive or on their exit.
