Hello all We find that private profiles do cause some problems. One example of a non-logged-in user is our campus bookshop. We are asking them to look at Reading Lists @ Liverpool to see academics’ recommendations. If the academic’s profile is private, the bookshop can’t see their name on the list. We try to get around this by also putting the academic’s name in the Description field. And by encouraging academics to make their profiles public. Since there is little difference between a public and private profile, perhaps it might be an idea to just have one type of profile.
