ALPSP is the international membership trade body which works to support and represent not-for-profit organizations and institutions that publish scholarly and professional content around the world. ALPSP's mission is to connect, inform, develop and represent the international scholarly and professional publishing community.
Reporting to the Events and Membership Manager, you will assist in the organization of UK events, coordinate ALPSP's presence at exhibitions and other conferences, provide administrative support for information and website systems, administer the supply and storage of publicity materials, and deal with member queries. ALPSP is going through a period of exciting change as we review our services to ensure they meet the needs of our members now and in the future. This is a customer-facing role; therefore you will need exceptional communication skills combined with good time management and organizational skills. Experience of event/exhibition organization is essential. Specific software training will be provided, but a sound working knowledge of MS Office applications is essential. Experience within a trade association or membership organization would be desirable.
The role requires you to be available for regular meetings in London and occasional travel elsewhere in the UK. The ALPSP Conference will involve overnight stays.
The salary for this position is £25,000 pa, pro rata, depending on experience.
