The Department of Geography at Durham University seeks to appoint a Lecturer /Senior Lecturer (Grade 7-9) in Human Geography. The post is available from January 2015. S/he will have expertise in GIS and/or quantitative methods, that will complement and extend the work in one or more of our human geography research clusters: 

• Culture-Economy-Life 
• Geographies of Health and Wellbeing 
• Politics - State - Space 
• Urban Worlds

 The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field, demonstrate a track record of, or potential for, internationally excellent publications and external funding. The successful candidate will show a commitment to delivering excellent teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and interdisciplinary postgraduate teaching of GIS and/or quantitative methods, as well as delivering specialist material in their field. In addition to their research, the successful candidate will perform departmental administrative tasks commensurate with their grade and contribute to our wider human geography teaching programme.
