 Salary : £27,000
 Employment type : Fixed Term

The Crown Estate has a role like no other business.  We ensure that the assets we invest in and manage are sustainably worked, developed and enjoyed to deliver the best value over the long term. Our business includes the whole of Regent Street, much of St James’s, Glenlivet, Windsor Great Park, hundreds of thousands of acres or rural land and coastline, and the UK’s seabed.

But it’s not just our size and diversity of assets that sets us apart, it’s the way we work. Everything we do is aligned to our core values of commercialism, integrity and stewardship, and we are committed to doing what we say, tackling our work with spirit and commitment, and working collaboratively with colleagues and partners.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join The Crown Estate’s GIS team. Your role will include analysing the proximity of proposed new developments to existing assets, producing maps for legal and information plans, and also undertaking small items of GIS analysis in response to business queries. We will also look to you to help maintain our GIS datasets and prepare information to support any external requests.

With a BSc or MSc in Geographical Information Systems/Science (GIS), you will have practical experience of ESRI software and extensions (e.g. ArcGIS) plus experience of using geoprocessing tools to manipulate datasets and expertise in using GIS to analyse datasets and produce information outputs. A good knowledge of OS products and services, Admiralty charts of various scales and sizes is essential, and experience of using large corporate databases would be a real advantage. You will also have good attention to detail, effective interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team and the organisation qualities to meet deadlines and priorities.
