This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support the work of The Crown Estate’s GIS team, where, in addition to sourcing, formatting and storing third-party spatial datasets for use in GIS tools, you will be responsible for the quality assurance of spatial datasets and assist in the management of the data received from our tenants. You will also be tasked with maintenance of spatial data and data cleansing. With a BSc or MSc in Geographical Information Systems/Science (GIS), you will have practical experience of ESRI software and extensions (e.g. ArcGIS) plus an excellent understanding of metadata and its importance in GIS. We are also looking for a good working understanding of projections and datum’s and common transformation issues. A good knowledge of OS products and services, Admiralty charts of various scales and sizes is essential, and an understanding of common sources of spatial data within the UK terrestrial and marine environments is also essential. You will also have good attention to detail, effective interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team and the organisation qualities to meet deadlines and priorities.
