Hi everyone

In addition to the new site itself, if you would like to hear more about the Teaching History with 100 Objects project, the idea and all the many partners involved I would recommend Richard Woff’s excellent blog post which is now live here http://blog.britishmuseum.org/2014/09/02/teaching-history-with-100-objects/

Do get in touch if you’d like to know more

All best wishes

Susan

Hi folks,

If you’ve been on holiday you may have missed our exciting new vacancy posted below; you have until 7 Sept – Sunday - to apply or spread the word. Many thanks.

I was at the launch of this at the British Museum this morning: http://teachinghistory100.org/about/ which you may have seen has had some press.

·         It’s a pilot informed by the BM teachers’ panels; it will be interesting to keep an eye on the evaluation to see how teachers use it;

·         There are several partner museums involved, which is good to see. There seems to be an expectation that the project will help drive new visits – another area to watch.

I’m interested in your thoughts. Is this an initiative you welcome? Is there more potential for UK museums to link up on learning initiatives? What work have you done to support teachers with the new curriculum?

Sadly I can’t make the GEM conference this year but look out for my colleague Miranda Stearn if you have any HLF-related questions.

Best wishes for a great new term,

Jo

The closing date for applications is: Sunday 7 September 2014.

Interviews will be held on Friday 12 September 2014.
