Dear Gemmers,

Harrow Museum is going from strength to strength, but needs our support. The council have just put out a public consultation on cuts and both Harrow Arts Centre and Harrow Museum are under threat.

Harrow Museum has a long established and vibrant learning programme for toddlers, school groups, families, young people and adults. It is home to many community celebrations and activities including a regular programme of live music, exhibitions and is well supported by volunteers.

It secured a HLF Stage 1 bid to help develop the site, to become more sustainable and an even greater local asset. Also included in the plans is the restoration of the 14th century Headstone Manor, the tithe barn and granary. These are among the few surviving historic buildings in Harrow and provide much needed contrast in an otherwise largely 20th century outer London suburb.

Many people aren't able or do not travel into London and rely heavily on this important local resource. The museum is on the cusp of great things and needs the on-going support of the council to achieve them.

Please help save Harrow Museum by liking the 'SAVE Harrow Museum' facebook page and or signing this petition which was set-up by one of their young participants!

Many thanks
Alison
