Upcoming Human Reproduction Study Group and East Midlands Medical Sociology Joint Winter Event-'Researching Human Reproduction: Methodological and Ethical Aspects' The convenors of the Human Reproduction Study Group and the East Midlands Medical Sociology group would like to invite you to attend their Winter Regional Event taking place at De Montfort University on Friday 5th December. The half-day event held in conjunction with the Reproduction Research Group at De Montfort University will be focusing on the methods, ethics and sensitivities associated with conducting research in the ever-expanding field of human reproduction. This event offers students and early-career researchers an opportunity to hear first-hand from researchers in the field about the challenges, practicalities and benefits of undertaking research into social aspects of human reproduction. This event will be of interest to those at all stages of their research and will include discussion of a number of methods and approaches commonly used when undertaking research in human reproduction. The event will include refreshments and a light lunch. The keynote will be delivered by Dr Petra Nordqvist from the University of Manchester 'Researching family sensitivities: Donor conception, secrecy and family life'. Talks will also be delivered by: Dr Juliet Rayment, City University: 'Emotional Labour: doing qualitative research in maternity care' Dr Gareth Thomas, Cardiff University: ''Everything's Data, Darling': An Ethnography of Screening for Down's Syndrome in UK Antenatal Care' Cost of attendance Refreshments and lunch will be provided and there will be the opportunity for networking and discussion.
