Dear Disaster Resilience group,
We are excited to announce the launch of
CDKN’s new international research fund, which aims to fill priority research gaps and address key questions relating to aspects of climate compatible development (CCD). The approximate total budget for the call is up to £3.35 million, and we expect to
fund around 8 to 16 projects of 12-20 months’ duration.
The research call challenges the international research community to develop innovative research to provide a robust and accessible evidence base for decision-making, and to achieve maximum policy impact. The call specifically invites proposals
on four themes:
1.
Robust national plans for climate compatible development transitions
2.
Enabling conditions for urban climate compatible development
3.
Climate-related disaster risk management and adaptation
4.
Climate Compatible Development and the Water, Energy and Food Security Nexus
Recipients of this Disaster Resilience email list will be particularly interested in the second and third of these research themes: proposals will explore aspects of urban resilience, the socio-economic impacts of DRM and adaptation initiatives,
and the resilience of formal and informal micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, for example. We are looking for innovative proposals for high quality research which reimagines our subthemes according to your own knowledge and experience.
The deadline for submission of completed Expressions of Interest (EoIs) is Friday 26th September, 2014, at 12:00pm (United Kingdom, GMT+1). More information, including the link to the full Terms of Reference and application form,
is available on the
CCD Impact Research Fund page on the CDKN website.
Best wishes,
Amy
