Dear colleagues,

This email serves as a first notice of an exciting Community Psychology Festival event on 28-29th November in London - see http://communitypsychologyuk.ning.com/events/community-psychology-festival
Please save the dates 29th and 29th November, and we'll let you have more information as our plans firm up in the next few weeks. It is to be held in Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, 235 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8EP. The BPS CPS committee has been working on planning the event for a while now, wanting to do something more inclusive than a conference, and to celebrate the variety of ways in which community groups are doing positive and hopeful activities in different settings in the UK. The AGM will also be incorporated into the event ...

Then, the following events may also be of interest:

1. 17 October at UEL, Stratford campus: 'Actions not Words II: Negotiating Multiple Idenitites'
This is the second conference of a grouping of BPS networks (including the Community Psychology Section) passionate about promoting equality and diversity. It has been organised by Psychologists belonging to various forums interested in issues related to race, culture and diversity including the Black & Asian Counselling Psychologists’ Group (BACPG), Educational Psychologists’ “Race” and Culture Forum(EPRCF) and members of the BPS.

For more details, please go to http://www.kc-jones.co.uk/action

2. 18 October in Manchester (Manchester conference centre), a conference jointly arranged by DCoP and the NW BPS branch: 'Social Justice: Towards a Model of Personal and Collective Empowerment'
For more details, please go to http://www.kc-jones.co.uk/justice

3. 8 November, Social Work Action Network London public meeting, 'Crisis in mental health services' see http://kilburnunemployed.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/crisis-in-mental-health-services-social.html

All the best,
Jacqui A
