Dear Community Psychology UK,

I am writing to let you know about a multi-centre project on evidence-based policy that has been launched via the Guardian by Cardiff University, the University of Exeter, and University College London.

This project aims to develop a new mechanism called the Evidence Information Service (EIS) to facilitate rapid communication between the political community and research professionals in academia and industry.

In advance of commencing this service the team are calling for Local Champions; members of the public to interview their local politicians about evidence use. The outcome of these interviews will help determine the shape of the EIS. Since the initiative has been launched there has been a really positive response but many constituencies across the UK are yet to be represented.

I am therefore contacting science related societies to try to reach potential Local Champions. If you could forward this email onto your members or post this message on your website that would be greatly appreciated.

If you would consider being a Local Champion, please contact [log in to unmask] for more information.
