The twelfth annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer History and Archives conference embraces the fascinating and complex world of LGBTQ family history and genealogy, offering a mix of talks, workshops and creative activities which set out to reconstruct and reimagine concepts of history, with an emphasis on contemporary interpretation. The day has been created in partnership with the Raphael Samuel Centre.

1. One of the strands of activity taking place throughout the day is thinking about how meaning and understanding provided by archive material can be shaped and altered by a whole range of interventions. This includes the sequence in which material is ordered, what is selected and omitted at different stages, the way material is packaged and how other documents and materials provide context. This work is aimed at people organising and writing their own personal and community histories.

We are asking any interested archives if they would like to bring along some relevant facsimile material. This might include posters, letters and photographs. The material would be used by participants to create and recreate 'archive boxes' and the history they contain.

2. Stalls. If anyone would like to have a stall to promote their collections, projects or any other LGBTQ activity let us know. There is no charge for stall space.

Let us know if you are interested in participating and I can provide further details.

Full details about the conference will be out soon but you can book right now at Eventbrite: http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/lines-of-dissent-the-twelfth-lgbtq-history-and-archives-conference-tickets-12088161015?aff=es2&rank=1
