R&D SCIENTIST VACANCY

Sutton Bridge Crop Storage Research, a department of AHDB Potato Council based in Lincolnshire, requires a Research Scientist to join their Plant Pathology team for a fixed term two year position.

You will be responsible for planning and executing laboratory based research projects and be required to produce technical reports throughout the project as well as liaising with research collaborators to assist in the successful delivery of projects. There will be significant involvement in a project to investigate the infection of potato tubers by pectolytic bacteria and, with collaborators, the development of a commercially effective control method.

A degree or equivalent qualification in plant sciences / applied biology is expected, and laboratory experience in plant pathology will be required.

Candidates will need to demonstrate an ability to plan and report on their own work and be prepared to travel.
